(Hon)? Hassan Saleh Has Failed His ‘Leadership Test’ 2019 Marks The End Of His Political Journey
Though ~to him, it was right not to influence or discharge democratic dividends to the federal constituency he claimed and believed to represent and protect it’s interest because “the people” never voted him to that power in the first place, he was only lucky and opportune (if I may put it that way) to inherit and acquire the “votes” and “trust ” we bestowed on a trusted, reliable and living political lion ~ Adaba Christian Abah (Mad Lion) during election process through questionable court judgement. He himself knows very well that he has failed a leadership exam and his withdrawal or expulsion from the system i.e. end of political career is inevitable.
With little or no doubt, aside sentiment, all my fellow constituents and Keen observer’s of events in Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo will agree with me that leadership positions such as the one Hassan Saleh currently occupies are like seating in a class for “test” or “examination” after which good/excellent performance’s of candidates are applauded, complimented and appreciated with “promotion ” into higher classes or positions while repeated poor performances or woeful failure earns the candidate an outright withdrawal or expulsion from the class or system. By critical and unbiased analysis, observation, evaluation and assessment of Hassan Saleh’s performance and “report sheet”, he has failed the ” leadership examination ” set and invigilated by over a million Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo constituents woefully.
If we must be sincere to ourselves and agree with the assertion of Messenger Okloho Adam John of Benue State House of Assembly representing the good people of Adoka/Ugboju State constituency when he granted interview to NAIS, Nasarawa State University Chapter delegation under my leadership that ; he preferred to be addressed and regarded as “Messenger” of Adoka/Ugboju people and not “Honourable” member because it is only after 4 or 8 years of representation of your people in the “Assembly” that the people (constituents) can judge, assess and evaluate your performance and consider whether to address you as “honourable citizen” or not, base on effective representation and the democratic dividends you have been able to attract or influence to the constituency ” then, I think the removal or detachment of “HON.” from Hassan Saleh’s name is not only pertinent but long overdue because he has nothing to show for after nearly 8 wasted years in the house of representative.
I learnt from a close “comrade” at a point in time that once any constituent visit’s his office at Abuja (i.e. if you are lucky and able to access him), he will shamelessly and gallantly inform you that you are not welcome and proudly tell you without pretense that he has nothing to offer you, after all, you did not vote him to the office, he is only occupying it sequel to court pronouncement. Little did he know that God Almighty who appoints leaders has his own unique way of doing things by making him to serve and represent his constituency at National Assembly through court declaration.
Hassan Saleh need’s not be told that his political journey will arrive final bus-stop come 2019 but I have only decided to remind him through this medium as a “concerned constituent” so that he may not be hoodwinked by political sycophants and praise singer’s whom he put meals on their table to waste his money/resources (our constituency project allowance) by contesting for Benue zone C senatorial seat or any other elective position come 2019 and beyond. Rumour already has it that he is warming up for BENUE ZONE C SENATORIAL SEAT but with the poor performance and/or absolute failure he recorded in this Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo leadership examination, his ambition will be dead on arrival.
The last time I checked, he has no constituency office in any of the districts or LGA’s under his jurisdiction where constituent’s can lay or submit letters, petitions and complaints about pressing constituency issues for him to address or take up to the National Assembly for debate. He hardly and rarely raise motion or sponsor bills in the chamber or his he trying to tell us that there are no critical issues that needs Govt. attention in Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo? There is little or no presence of basic or huge capital project, FG institution, institute in Ado, Okpokwu, Ogbadibo constituency courtesy Hassan Saleh. Apart from the “low capacity” electric transformer we once heard he distributed in his “clan” and other communities close to his village in Ogbadibo L.G.A and the once in a blue moon renovation; basically painting of some dilapidated primary school blocks and health centres in few and selected “area’s” in the large constituency, I could not recall any other major FG or constituency project he executed through out his almost 8 years at the National Assembly.
However, effective representation and good leadership has always been the clog in the wheel of development of our dear constituency since the voyage of Nigeria into representative democracy but by the grace of Almighty Allah, 2019 will be a historic year as the “masses” has resolved and efforts and arrangements are already in high gear to set things straight and put a square peg in a square hole by electing a vibrant, visionary man, youth empowerment icon, tested and trusted personality, focused and committed leader who has the interest of the people at heart to spear head the affairs of Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo federal constituency at the National Assembly, Abuja.
If any one is in doubt whether Hassan Saleh has delivered or not, he/she should embark on a “Project/Site” tour to other federal constituency’s like ours in states like Bauchi, Gombe, Delta, Rivers, Lagos e.t.c as I did of recent and he or she will be convinced that our Representative ; Hassan Saleh has long been sleeping on bicycle.
